The mission of NociTech is to provide novel quantitative tools for pain assessment. Our aim is to revolutionize the way pain patients are diagnosed and treated.
NociTech has developed a novel system for quantitative, objective pain assessment that enables a mechanism-based quantification of pain sensitivity. The mechanistic approach can differentiate whether the pain is associated with mechanisms in the peripheral or central nervous system.
Cuff pressure algometry is based on research from the past 15 years at Center for Sensory-Motor Interaction (SMI), Aalborg University, Denmark. In 2013 this research resulted in NociTech as a spin-out from Aalborg University, which has been developing and maturing the technology.
